McDavid GM dealership folds. I imagine that we will see many more closures in 2007 for dealerships tied to the Big 3.

DallasNews.com: Grocers hope to pass taste tests
Two of the most closely watched U.S. specialty food chains – both with roots deep in the heart of Texas – are putting their faith in Dallas-area residents to help them define their next steps in food retailing.
Competitors known for their innovations, Whole Foods Market Inc. and H.E. Butt Grocery Co.’s Central Market swear it’s just a coincidence that they’re each opening their chain’s next-generation stores in D-FW today. In Southlake, shoppers will help Central Market decide if it’s landed on the right suburban concept to make the leap outside of Texas.
In Dallas, the new Whole Foods at Preston Road and Forest Lane will help the Austin-based chain decide if it’s going to become a major spa operator.
It is very interesting to watch the grocery business go increasingly upscale as the battle the Wal-Mart juggernaut.
Wow, Jerry Jones and the Dallas Cowboys just announced a 5 year deal with The Ticket to carry Cowboys games. Games will be simulcast on The Ticket and 93.3 The Bone. From DallasNews.com:
“This is a significant day for our organization,” Jones said in a news release. “The Ticket has had a dramatic impact on the sporting culture of North Texas. They have created a powerful voice that makes a difference. This is a relationship that adds a significant media partner to the Dallas Cowboys corporate family — one that has set the bar nationally for local sports talk radio. The Ticket and 93.3 The Bone will allow us to reach all of our fans with a sense of urgency and style.”
From a August 13 Press Release:
The North Texas Tollway Authority (NTTA) and the DFW International Airport announced today that as of October 1, 2003, TollTag customers will be able to use their TollTags at DFW International Airport for pass through and “Terminal” parking.
This is welcome news for all as it will make trips to the airport even easier for TollTag holders. Even better news appears to be in the works:
Currently, the NTTA is working with the Harris County Toll Road Authority to provide interoperability to all EZ TAG and TollTag customers in both the Houston and Dallas/Fort Worth area and has approached Love Field and several major downtown Dallas and Fort Worth parking garages with similar agreements.
Let’s get these agreements done and keep Texas moving!
