KTCK-AM 1310 The Ticket just announced that Nolan Ryan will be at Ticketstock 2008 at the Plano Centre on Saturday, February 9.
As usual Richie Whitt nailed it, no Greggo news, no new on-air talent.
Update. More names to come.
Update 2. The Hardline will have Greggo news at 5:15 today.

The Dallas Morning News reports that Kroger is doing well in D-FW area. My own experience has shown Kroger to be much stronger here, but these hard numbers show Kroger is up 3.5% since 2004.
Kroger, the No. 2 U.S. grocer after Wal-Mart, seems to have figured out best how to live with the new reality.
Besides Wal-Mart and SuperTarget, Kroger was the only chain to gain market share in D-FW among the big six operators last year, according to data compiled by Market Scope, a publication of ACNielsen Trade Dimensions.
“Kroger is the only Wal-Mart rival thats had continuity, and its held up very well and continues to gain market share,” said Ed Fox, a marketing professor at Southern Methodist University who has studied the local grocery market for several years. “Tom Thumbs ability to compete was damaged by the change in ownership to Safeway, who tried to make all the stores homogenous. They’ve stabilized and are looking good relative to Albertsons.”
I keep waiting for Albertsons to pull out of this market entirely. The Albertsons at Custer and McDermott in Allen is one awful store.

DallasNews.com reports that Comerica is moving their headquarters to Dallas:
Comerica Inc. said Tuesday it plans to relocate its corporate headquarters to Dallas.
The Detroit company said the move to Texas will allow it to take advantage of a more central location with improved accessibility to its markets.
Comerica currently has 71 banking centers in Dallas, Houston and Austin, and has said it expects to significantly increase its growth in Texas. With more than $58 billion in assets, Comerica will be the largest bank holding company with headquarters in the state.
Great news for Dallas, let’s just hope the City Council does not do anything to screw this up!

DallasNews.com: Lakewood Minyard to be Whole Foods
Whole Foods is moving into Lakewood, and Minyard is moving out.
Whole Foods Market Inc. will announce today that it has bought the Lakewood Minyard Food Store and will tear it down to make way for a 50,000-square-foot Whole Foods. The new store will replace the chain’s original Dallas location on Lower Greenville Avenue.
I wonder if Whole Foods will put a spa in the new Lakewood store?

DallasNews.com: Grocers hope to pass taste tests
Two of the most closely watched U.S. specialty food chains – both with roots deep in the heart of Texas – are putting their faith in Dallas-area residents to help them define their next steps in food retailing.
Competitors known for their innovations, Whole Foods Market Inc. and H.E. Butt Grocery Co.’s Central Market swear it’s just a coincidence that they’re each opening their chain’s next-generation stores in D-FW today. In Southlake, shoppers will help Central Market decide if it’s landed on the right suburban concept to make the leap outside of Texas.
In Dallas, the new Whole Foods at Preston Road and Forest Lane will help the Austin-based chain decide if it’s going to become a major spa operator.
It is very interesting to watch the grocery business go increasingly upscale as the battle the Wal-Mart juggernaut.

From a August 13 Press Release:
The North Texas Tollway Authority (NTTA) and the DFW International Airport announced today that as of October 1, 2003, TollTag customers will be able to use their TollTags at DFW International Airport for pass through and “Terminal” parking.
This is welcome news for all as it will make trips to the airport even easier for TollTag holders. Even better news appears to be in the works:
Currently, the NTTA is working with the Harris County Toll Road Authority to provide interoperability to all EZ TAG and TollTag customers in both the Houston and Dallas/Fort Worth area and has approached Love Field and several major downtown Dallas and Fort Worth parking garages with similar agreements.
Let’s get these agreements done and keep Texas moving!

From press release:
Friday is July 11, but at 7-Eleven, Inc. it’s better known as 7-11 Day, and the day the world’s No. 1 convenience retailer celebrates its birthday. This year is no different. To celebrate its 76th birthday in 2003, participating 7-Eleven® stores across America plan to serve more than 5 million free Slurpee® drinks and samples of several tasty new products while supplies last this Friday. Each participating 7-Eleven store will offer 1,000 customers a free 7.11-oz. Slurpee drink of their choice.
Convenience retailing began simply enough in 1927 when a Southland Ice Company employee started selling milk, eggs and bread from his ice dock in Oak Cliff, a suburb of Dallas. Since that inauspicious start, “convenience” has become a big business. The small ice company has grown into a major international retailing chain with 5,800 7-Eleven stores in the United States and Canada, and more than 25,000 stores worldwide.

For the first time in my lifetime, DISD is free from court oversight of its desegregation efforts:
U.S. District Judge Barefoot Sanders issued a ruling Thursday that ends federal oversight of Dallas schools for the first time since 1971.
“The segregation prohibited by the United States Constitution, the United States Supreme Court and federal statutes no longer exists in the DISD,” Judge Sanders wrote in a 40-page ruling.
