Spring’s Chad Hedrick headlines the Team USA’s speedskating hopes in the upcoming Olympics.

Speed skating message boards buzz with blurbs about the “Texas Cowboy.” Unlike many of his colleagues, Hedrick has been known to keep late hours and set a world record a day later. Instead of spending prerace hours putting on his game face, Hedrick jokes and flirts with the women speed skaters.
“I call Chad the exception to the rule,” Parra said. “He’s a fun guy.”
