Associate Pastor, Jeff Jones
Step 3: Molding and Mentoring
Titus 2:2-4
Christianity is a relay race. We are to run the race well and pass the baton well.
- Serve as a model to the younger.
- Older men: Titus 2:2.
- Temperate (even keeled).
- Self-controlled (not controlled by our lusts).
- Worthy of respect (dignified).
- Health in faith (trusting God), in love (selflessness), and in endurance (we have the most to offer in old age).
- Older women: Titus 2:3,4.
- Reverent (live Christ-like lives) in the way the live.
- Not be slanderers (gossip).
- Not addicted (not a coping mechanism) to much wine.
- Serve as a mentor to the younger. Deuteronomy 6:6,7.
- Mentoring:
- A Friendship where you help each other grow.
Comes from the Greek word diabolos—the most common name for Satan in the New Testament.
