Tape 2408.03, Titus: A Handbook for Living

Associate Pastor, Jeff Jones

Step 3: Molding and Mentoring

Titus 2:2-4

Christianity is a relay race. We are to run the race well and pass the baton well.

  1. Serve as a model to the younger.
    • Older men: Titus 2:2.
    • Temperate (even keeled).
    • Self-controlled (not controlled by our lusts).
    • Worthy of respect (dignified).
    • Health in faith (trusting God), in love (selflessness), and in endurance (we have the most to offer in old age).
    • Older women: Titus 2:3,4.
    • Reverent (live Christ-like lives) in the way the live.
    • Not be slanderers (gossip).
    • Comes from the Greek word diabolos—the most common name for Satan in the New Testament.

    • Not addicted (not a coping mechanism) to much wine.
  2. Serve as a mentor to the younger. Deuteronomy 6:6,7.
  3. Mentoring:
A Friendship where you help each other grow.
