Worst of 2002

Pay with fingerprints?

From CNN.com:

Kroger Co., the largest U.S. supermarket chain, is offering some customers just that opportunity, testing finger imaging as a method of payment in three of its Texas stores.

“Early indications are that it’s being well received by the customer, the new technology is performing well, and it is saving both time and money,” said Gary Huddleston, manager of consumer affairs for Kroger’s Southwest division.

The testing is being done in Bryan-College Station. So, let the Aggie jokes begin.

In all seriousness, the system definately raises privacy concerns that must be weighed against the convenience of the service.

Congratulations!

Christmastime

Merry Christmas friends and family!

I can’t believe it is Christmas already. The weeks have flown by and Christmas is here! I am just now getting around to writing this message. We never did get our Christmas cards out (again). That’s what email and the web are for!

Today, we celebrate Emmanuel — God with Us. The birth of the Savior.

“For to us a child is born, to us a son is given, and the government will be on his shoulders. And he will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.” — Isaiah 9:6

2002 has been an exciting year for us. Emma thinks she is such an independent girl that she can do everything herself now. Her grandparents think so much of her that they keep filling our home with more and more toys, dolls, games, puzzles, and clothes than we know to do with. Shannon continues to do a great job being a mother, wife, teacher and friend. Meanwhile, I continue to look for a new career opportunity with prospects for a bright tomorrow.

We hope that you have a wonderful Christmas and a fabulous New Year.

Thanks for being a part of our lives.

Love in Christ,

Eric, Shannon, and Emma Wallace

Norm-A-Thon

The Ticket will be All Norm All The Time from 6am on 12/26 until 10am on 12/27. That is, if Norm can make it. The money Norm raises will go to one of his favorite ogranizations — the Austin Street Center for the homeless.

I will be listening from Houston on the Net. Good luck Norm!
